The Heart of Small Town Parshall is More Than Just "Boom Town" North Dakota

Karen Rabbithead, NE Segment Special Project Communications Specialist, and long-time community member, talks about the changes she's seen over the years and why she chose to stay and raise her own family here in Parshall. With a strong sense of community and traditional values, Karen has played a role in aiding in the revival of traditions and culture including the Santee Lucky Mound Powwow.
Jim Baker, Ranch Manager of Healing Horse Ranch, tells us a little bit about the history of how the Healing Horse Ranch came to be and the services they offer within the community including kids' programs, therapeutic services, rodeos, team roping events, and Indian Relay and Races. Healing Horse Ranch also partners with Nueta Hidatsa Sahnish College for Equine studies which offers students access to the arena during open riding times as well as the opportunity to participate in a myriad of equine events and activities offered at the ranch.
Brent Wollshlager, Farmer's Union Insurance Agent and lifetime Parshall resident, talks about growing up in Parshall, North Dakota, leaving and finding an opportunity to bring him back to his hometown and raise his family. Brent talks about the changes on Main Street, his favorite outdoor activities in the area, and the importance of community as well as the struggles small towns experience. Brent shares his sense of pride and support for the community he lives and loves, and more.
Michelle Hoff – Parshall Public Schools Athletic Director and resident talks about her background and teaching experience. She tells us about the time she changed the shop on her family farm into a temporary one-room schoolhouse and speaks about the changes at the school including the Parshall Braves' new facilities, and other new education opportunities.
