Stanley Builds Momentum in Rivalry Win
On homecoming night in Stanley, the Blue Jays defeated their former co-op partner Ray/Powers Lake by a final score of 40-13.
Stanley improved to 2-2 and has now won back-to-back games for the first time since 2018. First-year head coach and former Lyne Enget assistant Dave Leith is infusing energy into the program, whose participation has climbed from 35 to 46 already this season. Jack Hynek led the way on the ground, with fellow tailbacks Casyn Bieri and Ethyn Jessen all chipping in near-100 yard rushing performances. Wideout Drake Schlosser scored twice and the Blue Jays defense forced three turnovers in the victory.
Ray/Powers Lake fell to 2-2 on the season and 1-1 in regional play. They will look to bounce back against Bishop Ryan next week behind the play of quarterback Cody Rice.
