St. Mary's Volleyball Sweeps Mandan
In front of their home crowd and on BEK TV Tuesday night, the St. Mary's Saints earned their third win in four matches. They did so in straight sets, improving to 5-13 overall while dropping Mandan to 4-16.
Senior Lexi Gerving led all hitters with 12 kills in the match. Lilly Kuennen chipped in seven and the Saints' middle blockers Sommer Schweitzer and Mataya Messer had 6 each. Messer ended the match with an ace, sealing a 26-24 result in the third set.
The Braves were paced by Ellie McElvaney's nine kills. Sophomore McKenna Johnson turned in a strong performance in the middle with four blocks. However, the Braves were unable to string together enough points to prevail in any of the three tight sets. The Saints swept the season series and moved into 8th place in the WDA standings.
