Region 1 Girls' Tournament Thursday Slate

The Region 1 Girls' Basketball Tournament comes to its thrilling conclusion this Thursday evening in Jamestown. Here is the slate of action airing on BEK TV statewide and the free BEK TV+ App:

6:00 PM - Third Place Game - LaMoure/LM vs. Maple River

The winner of Thursday's third place game will advance to a state qualifier on Saturday in Mayville while the losing team will see its season come to an end. The Raiders won both regular season meetings over the Loboes but will have to bounce back from their loss to EKM on Tuesday in order to keep their season alive. The Loboes led late in their semifinal loss to Sargent County, but could not hang on and will now face a must-win situation.

7:30 PM - Region 1 Championship - Sargent County vs. Edgeley-Kulm-Montpelier

For the second time this season, the Bulldogs and Rebels will square off. The Rebels captured the first meeting, 60-55, but the stakes will be heightened this time around with the winner punching a ticket to state. The region runners-up will be forced to play a state qualifier against the Region 2 third place team on Saturday in Mayville.

The Rebels are seeking a second consecutive state tournament appearance. Both teams won their respective districts in the lead-up to Thursday's clash.
