ND Attorney General Replies on Request to Investigate Pipeline Company

ND Senator Jeff Magrum, along with 31 other colleagues from the House and Senate, had concerns about the transparency and ownership of Summit Carbon Solutions. They collectively signed a letter to Attorney General Drew Wrigley, requesting him to look into the matter.

Later, Senator Magrum addressed the Burleigh County Commission. He expressed that Summit Carbon Solutions had disclosed only 5 out of the 464 investors, suggesting a lack of transparency that needed investigation. Following his request, the Burleigh County Commission agreed to compose a letter to Attorney General Wrigley, asking for an investigation. This decision was made at the end of a two-hour meeting, showing the seriousness of the issue.

However, in a letter dated June 15th, Attorney General Wrigley stated that his office can only start an investigation if a request is made by a city council or commission, county commission, or a title agent. Up to that date, his office hadn't received such a request. This suggests that the Burleigh County Commission's letter was sent after June 15th or had not yet reached Wrigley's office by the time his letter was written. Therefore, it remains to be seen how Wrigley will respond to the Burleigh County Commission's request for an investigation.
