BSC Volleyball Outlasts NDSCS in Five Sets

Bismarck State College (10-4) stayed perfect in MonDak play with a come-from-behind win over North Dakota State College of Science (7-5) at the Armory Monday night.

With the gym packed full of fans from both teams, the match delivered plenty of drama and momentum swings leading into a deciding set. After splitting the first two sets, NDSCS surged to a 27-25 win in set number three. Led by sophomore hitters Riley Hauff (Drake, ND) and Katie Gostovich, the Wildcats jumped in front by a score of 10-5 in set four.

But from there, the Mystics responded by winning 10 of the next 12 points to seize control. Behind the dazzling defense of freshman libero Piper Harris (Mandan, ND) and the precise attacks of Breena Sand (Bismarck, ND) and Caton Pearcy (Dickinson, ND), they won the set 25-20 and forced a decider.

Behind Sand's serving and the clutch play of middle blocker Paige McAllister (5 blocks), the Mystics won the set in convincing 15-8 fashion.
