HIGHLIGHTS: Davies Defeats Mandan

Behind a dominating defense, Fargo Davies defeated Mandan by a final score of 20-9 in their season opener Friday night.

The Eagles held Mandan to just one touchdown, tallying seven sacks and three interceptions to go along with a goal-line stand in the victory. Senior captains played large roles, with Andre Werk racking up four sacks and Luke Lorenz recording a crucial interception. Lorenz was vital in all phases, scoring touchdowns both as a running back and punt returner. Mandan's defense kept the game close until the fourth quarter, when senior Zach Lilly sealed their fate with an 86-yard touchdown run to ice the game.
