Global Livestock Threats: Trent Loos Sounds the Alarm on Government-Ordered Ostrich Cullings

The farm, previously featured on the show, is now fighting a legal battle after Canadian authorities demanded the destruction of their entire herd due to avian flu detected in only a few birds. Trent reveals that the case has reached the Canadian Supreme Court as the farm owners work to protect their ostriches from unnecessary slaughter. He highlights how ostriches have unique immune systems capable of developing antibodies stronger than almost any other animal—antibodies that were being used in the fight against the coronavirus. Trent also reflects on what he’s learned after years of hosting Across the Pond, noting that producers around the world are facing eerily similar challenges—proof that the attack on agriculture isn’t accidental. He warns that with 175 million birds culled by the USDA since 2022, mass extermination is not the solution—it’s part of a larger problem threatening farmers, food security, and freedom.
