Defending Champs Sheyenne Face Road Test Tonight
Fresh off their inaugural state championship in 2022, the Sheyenne Mustangs have started 2023 with a bang, and on the other side of the net, Fargo South is gearing up to challenge the Mustangs with strategic plays honed by their seasoned head coach, Peyton Wegleitner. It's a clash of titans you won't want to miss!
West Fargo Sheyenne vs. Fargo South -- 7:00 PM on BEK TV
West Fargo Sheyenne (8-1) coming off of their first ever state championship win in 2022. They lost 8 seniors from their state champ team, include 3 All-EDC honorees, but that attrition hasn't shown just yet. The Mustangs started their season 7-0 at the BPS Crossover and look just as formidable in 2023.
Fargo South (4-5) also qualified for the state tournament a year ago, finishing in seventh place. They’re led by 6th year head Coach Peyton Wegleitner, who is putting a big emphasis on service reception this season. They will need to have a lot of success returning the serves and attacking the ball down at the net against the Mustangs.
Sargent County vs. Oakes -- 7:00 PM on BEK Sports 2
The Oakes Tornadoes are 3-2 on the young season, looking to carry momentum from their 3-1 win over Lisbon. They have five seniors but lack overall depth, so their rotations are still taking shape early in the season. Tonight, they'll host the Sargent County Bulldogs, who are 2-1 after defeating Central Cass in their last contest.
Lisbon vs. Napoleon-GS -- 7:30 PM on BEK Sports 3
Two teams looking for their first win of the season will square off in Gackle this evening. Kyra Haecherl and Kaia Sweet lead a senior-heavy Lisbon team into tonight's match against an Imperials squad which lost in straight sets to LaMoure on Thursday night.
