Crafting Legacy: Watford City's Inspiring Mompreneurs

She finds feathers along her walks and incorporates gorgeous trimmings in her spectacularly-crafted headwear. She wanted to find something she could make with her hands that would be lasting, and could be handed down to the next generation. She learned the skills necessary, assembled the tools and began Frickin Hat Company. People can contact her and she will make sure the hat-owner's head (and shape!) are carefully measured so that the end-result from this gifted hatter fits perfectly. Randi Smith, another busy mom who works full-time and does her intricate designs as a side-gig in her spare time, was enamoured with a particular very expensive cowhide purse she saw one day, and decided she could make the same or better herself with a leather-sewing machine she had in her basement. She named her business The Rad Bags, and set out to create beautiful and functional designs, and along the way added special silver buckles and elements to her purses which inspired her to learn jewelry-making as well. She uses real turquoise and sterling silver in her designs, and has recently begun making exceptionally complex large circular wall hangings called mandalas. She explains that making the intricate designs is a form of relaxation for her, and the end results are stunning!
