Century Volleyball Notches Top-5 Win
In the first set, both teams struggled on serve until senior Eden Fridley got on a roll. She served out the final eight points of the set and Century edged in front, 25-18.
Fridley's strong serving again dug Century out of another hole in the second set. Facing set point, the Demons turned to senior outside hitter Tayla Andersen, who saved the set with one of her 17 kills on the evening. Andersen's subsequent ace opened the door for the Demons to tie the match, but Century saved set point with an Erika Lee block and went on to seal the second, 27-25.
In the third, Andersen recorded her 1,000th career kill, a moment that was recognized by fans of both schools in attendance. Her strong performance wasn't enough for the Demons, who struggled to penetrate the Patriot block. Addison Klemin and Erika Lee combined for 7.5 blocks and helped Century wrap the 3rd set 25-21. The Demons suffered their first loss of the WDA season while Century moved into sole possession of second place in the conference.
