The Biggest Little Show in the World: How Sisters Rodeo Became a PRCA Legend

This was no ordinary local rodeo; it was a proving ground for the toughest cowboys and fastest horses, a place where the spirit of the West came alive under the wide-open sky. For decades, the rodeo moved from place to place, but in 1979, it found a permanent home. Thanks to Carl and Virginia Campbell, original members from the 1940 founding, the association secured 33 acres of prime rodeo land. With the right foundation in place, the rodeo quickly grew, installing permanent grandstands and sturdy arena fencing that could withstand the thunder of hooves and the roar of the crowd. The hard work and cowboy determination paid off. By 1988, the Sister’s Rodeo earned a coveted spot as a Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) member, standing proudly alongside the likes of St. Paul and Pendleton. This recognition placed it among the top rodeos in the country, drawing the best cowboys and cowgirls eager to test their skills on one of the most respected stages in rodeo. "Special Cowboy Moments" takes viewers on a journey through the history of this remarkable event, capturing the passion, legacy, and fierce competition that make rodeo more than just a sport—it’s a way of life. From its humble beginnings to its rise as a PRCA powerhouse, the Sister’s Rodeo proves that no matter how small the town, a cowboy’s heart and determination can make it legendary.
