From Navy Master Chief to Wisconsin Farmer: Jesse Maier on Drug Interdiction, Military Waste, and Life After Service
Navy veteran turned Wisconsin farmer Jesse Maier joins Trent Loos to share a remarkable American story. Raised in southwestern Wisconsin, Maier survived foster care, reunited with his father, and enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1997. During a 25-year career, he ran counter-drug operations, came under live fire, and saw the mission shift to homeland defense after September 11. The former Master Chief exposes military spending waste, outdated technology, and paying for ship repairs out of his own pocket. He also weighs in on the Department of War name change. Today, Maier grows corn and soybeans on 500 Wisconsin acres.
