Discussing Animal Tracking, Vaccine Mishaps & CO2 Pipeline Condescension

"Across the Pond" hosts Trent Loos and Andrew Henderson invite their esteemed guest, Jim Ferguson, on Thursdays for lively and informed discussion. The trio delves into the debate over electronic tracking of farm animals and equipment, weighing the potential benefits for modern farming against the potential infringement on the privacy and autonomy of farmers.

They also pivot across the Atlantic to an unfolding controversy in the UK, where a British MP is rallying for a parliamentary inquiry into reports of British citizens receiving incorrect Covid vaccinations. As myocarditis numbers soar to unprecedented heights, the discussion intensifies on the need for accuracy and diligence in public health strategies.

Finally, the program exposes an unsettling incident at a South Dakota hearing for a proposed CO2 pipeline. An expert witness condescends to the public, implying they're "too dumb to understand" the risks associated with a pipeline leak. This insult not only disrespects the intelligence of the average citizen but also raises questions about the transparency and accountability of the proponents of this pipeline project.

Tune in for a well-rounded conversation where conservative values of personal liberties, transparency, and respect for citizenry play out across diverse issues, from farm tech to public health and environmental safety.

More information about livestock tracking:
Electronic tags, widely used in Europe, are employed for tracking livestock. These tags, known as Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) tags, are seen as beneficial in preventing and containing food-borne illnesses. In the United States, however, the reception towards this technology is varied.

RFID tags, which can be attached to an animal’s ear, function similarly to traditional metal ID clips, aiding in tracking inventory and monitoring health. Unlike metal tags, RFID chips emit signals captured by readers, which then upload the data to a database. This technology is not only used in livestock tracking but also in sectors like logistics and amusement parks.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture endorses the use of RFID tags for tracking cattle across state lines. This application represents a preliminary step in the potential uses of this technology. However, it has elicited a range of responses from livestock producers, ranchers, state agriculture departments, and farm bureaus.
