Depopulation Myths and Ag Innovations Discussed on 'Trent on The Loos'

Venturing into a more critical dialogue, Damien and Trent dissect the controversial topic of the “de-population” agenda, particularly in relation to the 30 by 30 initiative and issues surrounding starvation. Debunking the myth of unsustainable population growth, Trent offers a perspective-laden fact: in 1920, a staggering 80% of the global populace grappled with food insecurity. Fast forward to the present day, and that figure has remarkably plummeted to 20%, a testament to the transformative power of agricultural innovation over the past 100 years.

Rounding off the discussion, the duo casts light on the ever-pertinent matter of water usage rights.

Tune in for a conservatively grounded analysis of these pressing issues.

More on the 30 x 30 Initiative:

The 30 by 30 initiative aims to protect 30% of Earth's land and oceans by 2030. This idea was first proposed in a 2019 article titled "A Global Deal for Nature: Guiding principles, milestones, and targets" in the science journal Science Advances. The article emphasized the urgent need to increase nature conservation to help fight climate change. Following this, the High Ambition Coalition for Nature and People began promoting the initiative in 2020, and by early 2021, it had garnered support from over 50 countries. This number increased to more than 100 countries by late 2022.

In September 2021, the initiative received a significant boost with $5 billion funding for a project called the "Protecting Our Planet Challenge."

At the COP15 meeting in December 2022, the 30 by 30 target was formally adopted into the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework, making it an official goal for major groups like the G7 and the European Union.
