On November 5, 2024, North Dakota voters will decide on Initiated Measure 4, a proposed constitutional amendment aimed at changing how property taxes are levied. A "yes" vote would prohibit state and local governments from taxing the assessed value of homes, except for taxes related to paying off bonded debts. A "no" vote would allow the continuation of current property tax practices. Lepp explained that property taxes are unfair, that spending is out of control, and eliminating them would offer real tax relief.
